Workin out

What's up!
Hmmm this week was well I have another drunk person story but only Grandpa Nicholson will be laughing is head off. Recently we've decided to be going to the gym and lifting weights. It's pretty fun I guess. I went on exchanges with the Zone Leaders and Elder Thompson and I met Colt McCoys center during his career for University of Texas. That was cool. We also got to go onto the air force base and eat dinner with a family from church. I really can't remember the rest of the week but that's okay. Oh we sang at a funeral and did terrible. The funeral was at some funeral home and they weren't of our faith so that's cool. Today we are helping someone move and also we are going to the Zoo. That's it for now. Until next time

P.S. I took a picture of 2011 Eleanor but I don't have my camera with me

Pranks

Kade Jensen
3549 Curry Lane #2414
Abilene, Tx 79606
Hey everybody I put my address up again because people are still sending letters to Amarillo. So this is the address hopefully for another 7 weeks unless I get transferred again. I wasn't going to write this week just cuz I didn't feel like saying anything. But this week has been weird with miracles. We went to Rene and Kendras house and out of no where Kendra says when do I get baptized so we have a date for the 1st of October. Right before meeting with them we had to waste time for 30 minutes so we were going to this one apartment complex and a sign says no trespassing and soliciting so we were getting ready to leave and some guys starts walking over and we are like great here comes the security telling us to get off the property as usual. This guy says hey what church are you? I want to know more about what you teach to people so it was pretty great and he is pretty legit and says he will read the book of Mormon in 2 days and he will be at church.
Last P-day we did the squeeze it challenge. Sister Poulson and Elder Merrill were the funniest ones to watch. I called this email Pranks because I jumped up to the Sisters balcony and 4 of us put a tree branch up there so when they get home they see it. It was super funny but quite a mess. The sisters decided to get us back yesterday. They made us Brownies which we ate after a meeting we had and these brownies had Tabasco sauce in them. We gave them high fives for that.
This passed week I saw Eleanor (the car off of Gone in 60 seconds) I saw the original one and also 2 brand new 2011 Eleanors they look way awesome! A member has an Eleanor and we met another member with a De Lorean these are all sweet cars. It's good to hear Laine's high school career is doing splendid. It sounds like the concert went great! I'm doing well but until next time see ya
Love Kade Jensen
P.S. I met some cousins here. They are the Woodbury family and they are Condies and related to the prophet too!!! Also I met Sister White. She is Karma Ellgen's sister. There are three of us missionaries in one ward who know a brother or sister of Sister White I just so happen to be the one who knows Karma.

Just another week.

Hey yall
So on Friday we went tracting in some apartment complexes felt like I was going to be shot the entire time! It was a very sketch neighborhood but we go there all the time now because we like the adrenaline rush and it's something fun to write about. This guy we met there was crazy but pretty cool once you talked to him. He had no left leg, no right foot, no right forearm, and pretty cool tats. We asked how he got in that situation of losing all his limbs and we were expecting to hear a vietnam story or something but all it was was that he had diabetes and didn't feel like taking care of it. Church was cool especially when you don't know that you are teaching second hour. We had an awesome experience with this lady who called us and said she talked to us weeks ago but it wasn't us she talked with. It was the other missionaries so we have no idea who this lady is. That night we went knocking and ran into some members that knew everything about that lady and we know that that wasn't coincidence at all.
Did you guys all read the September Ensign? I strongly encourage it especially if you are teaching or taking a marriage class. My emails are getting shorter and shorter each week because I get bored of writing the same thing over and over and over again. Ha my journal has some good stuff more detailed. Hahaha oh my gosh we pranked Elder Daines so good yesterday it was so perfect. Oh yeah and guess what today is!!!!! IT'S FOOTBALL TIME! We know where everyone here will be tonight and during church and for family home evening. Today we are going do the squeeze it challenge. Drink 15 squeeze its in 15 minutes. The Sisters fed us French Toast this morning. Thank you Sister Peavler and Sister Poulson. How was the first days of school at Carter? Pretty fun huh. Hmmm what else??? I want to put pictures up but some computers won't allow it like these ones so oh well whatever. Have a good week everybody

It's a small world in Abilene‏

Kade Jensen
3549 Curry Lane #2414
Abilene, TX 79606

Okay how can I start off for this week. I can start by saying I got packages so don't worry about it and my retainer popped off like 15 days ago the day before I was going to the orthodontist so it's all good now and I just wear the ones at night now. Knocking on doors I met this guy who lived in Cedar City and he told us one of his best friends is named Vernon Condie!! I said that's in my blood! I said that family founded that area and Elder Rowley said that his family founded it too so we too might be related somehow but he was going to pull out his family tree to see how we connect. That same day we ran into a lady who lived in St. George for awhile too!

This last weekend was also Stake Conference and the Mission President and Temple President gave talks and the missionaries were on stage singing the choir. Sisters Poulson, Wilson and I had an MTC reunion. It's always fun to see people you came out with. And on Sunday we met the Ward Mission Leader and he served in the Jacksonville ward and his companion was the one who interviewed Megan for baptism. His name is Elder Leveton and he took us out to some chinese restaurant last night. Yesterday we were up and down the city going from place to place because I wrote every former investigator in my planner to go visit them. We couldn't find some but we went knocking in an apartment complex and we knocked 7 doors with the short time we had and six of them opened saying come back and teach more. It was way cool! Last night we also got the cops called on us because the apartment manager called them saying we were soliciting and we told the cop that people told us to come back and so we went back which acceptable to do.

I don't know what else to say but this morning played basketball and made 3 full court shots in a row so I was pretty excited about that. We have been taking care of a members dog named Butch and Baby Girl but we call Baby Girl Frank because of the Pug off of Men In Black hahaha it's so funny anyways Butch is a boxer and when you play with him sometimes it's so scary because he is aggressive. Elder Rowley has a video of Butch chasing me down and tackling me. But Butch is way fun he loves swimming. Butch also has a funny story with Elder Gibson. White washing is pretty tough because you don't know anyone and they don't know you so everything is brand new and it's a chance to start fresh. During our free time we started an Obama puzzle I don't know why but he is finished now hanging on the wall. Elder Rowley bought the puzzle for 80% off here in Texas I think people in Texas hate him or something like that. Gotta love the people that's for sure. They say and do whatever they feel.

Hmmm.... What else???? Sunday is coming up I think there is something happening then, it must not be that important since I can't remember. Anyways I picked up the word yonder. No one has a thick accent on the west side of Texas but I still got yonder out of it. Oh Yeah!! It's Laine's Birthday!!! 15 already wow I thought it was 14 or 12 but okay time to get a permit and have fun with mom in the passenger seat it's some good times ahead of you. HAHAHA I'm just teasing yall =) I hope everyone is doing well it sounds like they are. Keep up the good work everyone have fun at Carter High School Laine it will be fun. Tell school one teachers hi for me. And everyone should be reading the Good Book everyday and seeking for missionary opportunities. Now is a good opportunity to invite friends to listen to Thomas S. Monson in a month or so.

I love you all

Hey Everybody,
I got transferred! I am now in Abilene!! I am with Elder Rowley now who makes you cry because you laugh so hard. He is so funny! We are white washing an area meaning we both haven't done anything so we are just starting fresh here. My last few days in Amarillo were fun. I went to an investigators house after the never ending pasta bowl at olive garden. They told me to come over because they have a present for me. I walk in their house and Cary the husband walks into his guitar room closet and comes back with an Edward Van Halen tie that is still wrapped and has never been open. It was so AWESOME!!! I felt like a kid with a new toy or a family who just got an extreme home makeover. Then of course went and said by to the coolest members in Amarillo. If I ever go back there after my mission I am going to the Tascosa Drive-In Theatre which is my dream now that I know where a drive in is I'M GOING!!!
The bus drive down was fun seeing mostly everyone from the MTC. Sister Poulson and Sister Wilson are in my zone. Poulson is in my district and same apartment complex so it should be fun. Abilene is greener than Amarillo it's still fun to joke about the brown land. I know Elder Rowley and I will be great! He is from Paramore or Panawan Utah or something like that. I guess it's really small. But we got put into a bike area so hopefully my bike didn't get too destroyed from mountain biking. Also good news is I didn't break my finger it's just way jammed but not as bad as dads finger. Elder McAdams got put with another new missionary so he will be training again but for 12 weeks because of some new program the Presidency put out. Elder Rowley has 12 weeks left until he goes home so I'm thinking I will be with him for that time but ya never know anything can happen these days. I love you guys!
Love, Kade Jensen

Wow what a hectic week

Hey yall sorry this email is late today. So saturday we had 4 baptisms and 4 confirmations in our ward the next day. I also gave a talk on the gift of Agency. This week we haven't been doing much except for service we ripped up a whole lawn on Saturday and replaced it with stone for Nancy some investigator. She fed us breakfast and lunch. On monday we went tracting and I went through all the people that Rob Folsom ran into only one of the seven actually was still around. Early morning we set a baptismal date for a guy named Jason who is really interested! Also on monday I found out some stuff which made me not eat at all Monday and Tuesday just cuz I was really down and didn't know what to do. But tuesday we knocked all day weaving back and forth through neighborhoods. It went well we found lots of new contacts who are somewhat interested. On Wednesday I wouldn't have ate anything but we went to Nancys to touch things up with the yard and she fed us breakfast and lunch again. We went to Kristens who just needs to come to church and get dunked but her kids always say the "aries" are coming over and then we show up it's way weird but Kristen needs to understand that what we are teaching her is true but her work schedule and friends think differently. So that's why everyone needs to find out for themselves and not be peer pressured into anything.
Today I am late writing this because we just went mountain biking up Palo Duro Canyon which is the 2nd largest after Grand Canyon. It was 122 degrees outside in the canyon. It was way fun and scary going up and down the hills and cliffs but I got used to it. We were riding to this one hill called Lighthouse and right before not 20 seconds before we got there my chain broke and my bike stopped and I went forward slamming my right index finger I don't know if it's broken or not but I don't think so since I am typing lightly with it. I am so burned and dusty from it but it was still fun!!! Elder Moss was there too which was fun. I rode a fake bull and had harry potter glasses on and we got a shirt and got water bandannas from Nancy it's the new style these days.
This next week is Transfers so I don't know if I will get transferred to another area we think I will stay but you never know. But if I do stay then yes I am moving into another apartment anyways at the end of this month so send me letters if you know they will get here before the month is over.
Hmmm what else oh yeah I don't know what to do with this stupid retainer that does not stay in so it just cuts my tongue constantly. It's really starting to bug me. Shaving!! Ugh I have to start shaving every day now so it's coming in fast!! I just got my haircut yesterday too and it looks nice. I'm glad Laine is liking all the camps she's been too and that her faith and testimony is growing now she just needs to stay on that path and not let high school get in the way. So Laine when someone picks on you just go to the gym lobby and point at the wall and say "so my brother is better than your brother" I'm sorry that's not christ like at all. Everyone have a good week and go to church!!!

Nothing too exciting

Welp nothing much to say in this letter. Laine is having tons and tons of
camps so she is always busy this summer which is good. And Aley died a week
ago today. Heard lots of bad news this passed week. Hopefully it's better
this week. So Saturday we had a ward picnic and we threw water balloons at
each other. Sunday we had church and this Sunday I have to give a talk on
the Gift of Agency. Monday I met Jason who is having us come over every day
to teach him because he learned a lot when he visited Spain and their
missionaries there so he called the church building on Sunday and we just so
happened to be there to pick it up. Perfect timing. We also knocked all day
and made 5 contacts so we will keep checking on them. Tuesday we helped a
less active clean her boat. Wednesday I finally met Kristen whose mom is a
member but she isn't so she will come to church this Sunday. And today is
nice out with clouds and wind and it's not hot really feels good. So we were
going to play volleyball now it may look like we play something else since
the weather is good. After we shop for food we are going to Cici's Pizza.
Welp that's it for now and tell Jordan Rigby welcome home. It's a short
email see ya.

Drunk People these days

Hey Everybody
Wow I just had to pick the worst keyboard here at the library but that's okay. I am doing well. Let's see how my week went.... Can't remember anything from Friday or Saturday but Sunday, Justine (10) showed up to church and I confirmed her that was way awesome! Elder McAdams kept whispering don't pass out don't pass out because of my spells and all. But yeah that was cool. Monday was fun but way exhausting and hard. Now that Dorothy and Justine are members we don't have any investigators really so Monday we knocked six hours straight and then Tuesday knocked another 4 hours straight. The title is called Drunk People these days because of Monday we were knocking and only 2 people talked to us in 5 hours so we knocked another house and this guy named Randell is 51 and he was hammered. His dog was the ugliest thing I have ever seen to being 20 years old. Anyways this drunk guy told us to sit outside and he will come back so we sat and talked about what we should teach and we said let's ask him to be baptize just too look at his reaction. He came out wanting to know a story so we did the First Vision and he smoked 5 cigarettes in 15 minutes and all the smoke was hitting Elder McAdams hahaha so he started saying a few bad words here and there and he told us he would stop and we said the name Joseph Smith and The Book of Mormon and he was tripping out like a demon was inside of him. So we just made fun of him asking "So uhh how many drinks did you have? It smells like you showered in it. Hey how does that cancer stick taste? You know it's killing you." And he is completely out of it while we are having a good time messing with his head. I know it was a waste of time but we needed some fun!!! So anyways we asked him if he would be baptized into our church and he told us, "I will only if you go back to your old school ways man ya know what I'm saying man." We asked what do you mean? And he said it's a very VERY bad word man. We just start saying polygamy multiple times and he kept yelling stop saying that word. We were laughing so hard. We exclaimed how we don't practice that anymore and he said that it was man who changed that rule it wasn't god. We just said okay whatever man and messed with his head more. He walked around like gollum and completely acted like him too he would make a weird noise every time we say Joseph Smith and The Book of Mormon. But it totally made my week the best part is he works at one of the Wal-Mart's around here.
Okay now Tuesday is the first day of Zone Conference where we had interviews with the mission president. We had pizza with him. The Vehicle Coordinator and Supplies Elders stayed with us. I finally saw Elder Moss again too which was cool having a reunion. Now wedneday we all woke up early and went to Amarillo High and played Ultimate Frisbee with about 30 of us. There are 10 of us who always play Tuesdays and Saturdays but Wednesday was where everyone is in town. After that there were 8 of us who came to my apartment to shower to head to the stake center. Fast shower. Zone conference went well and I hung out with Elder Moss a lot of the time then we went knocking some more. I can't stand the Texas Sabbath! Every wednesday and Sunday they are all at church so nobody is home to teach. Also school is starting soon which means no one want's us Friday or Saturday because of High School and College football. Now today is P-Day and Elder Moss said they are hopefully coming up to come play basketball today which will be awesome!!! Today is also Sister Augustin's Birthday (President's wife) and tomorrow is Dorothy's birthday and Saturday we have a ward picnic with kickball and water balloons.
Wow Laine is doing all the church things possible this month. Trek, EFY, BYU, Girls Camp! That's so cool!! Hopefully she learns a ton about the gospel and what the Spirit feels like. Never forget that feeling. I wish I can do Cascade Lakes Relay that would be so much fun. I wouldn't be going as fast as usual ha. Seems like the camping at the coast went well. Dad you gotta stop complaining about Oregon heat. It's great to hear that Kelly is going to New Mexico for his mission it will be tough work. I haven't heard from Greyson but that's good he is doing well tell his family I'm doing well. I'm glad everyone is doing so well!
Love, Kade Jensen
P.S. I forgot to write above somewhere that the more I've been with Elder McAdams the more he reminds me of Jordan Rigby! He acts and talks like him.

I'm moving!!

Hey everybody!!!
So I am moving to another apartment at the end of August don't know quite yet which apartment but I'll let you all know in the future. Last Thursday we went to Cadillac Ranch and put graffiti on the cars there which was way fun. We baptized Justine (10) and Dorothy (70) on Saturday and we confirmed Dorothy on Sunday but Justine didn't show up cuz her mom slept in.... And I was supposed to do the confirmation so hopefully this Sunday she will be confirmed. Also on Saturday we went knocking and found a 3 families that were Persian living next door to each other and they are all cousins and what not. It was hard to explain to them who Jesus Christ is because here everyone believes in Him. So they want to know more it's just that they only speak Persian but the daughters speak some English. A few days later we met a family from Tanzania and only the 12 year old son spoke a little English and so that was tough. Tanzanians speak Kurundi and it was fun hearing the 12 year old translate. Yesterday we taught Yazmin who I think I wrote about she is the one who has uncles named Lehi, Nephi, Abinadi, Alma, and Moroni and she doesn't know why they are named so we are teaching her all the stories and praying to know the truth. We also taught Sierra who is 12 and she is getting baptized the 13th. She is what we call a golden baptism meaning she is getting baptized no matter who tells her not to. Kelly and Cary are so fun to teach because they love having bible study. Cary is really quiet so Elder McAdams and I are going to teach him seperately (however you spell it). Kelly says she is already converted but she doesn't understand everything even though she thinks she knows what we are saying. We have also been teaching a less active family and the daughter is 18 and her name is Megan and her best friend's name is Ashlee (hmmm sounds like two people I know at home). So we commited Megan to teach Ashlee the Gospel and now tonight we are going to see how that went and check up on that. Megan texted us and said hey come on over so it sounds like she has good news.
Okay I meant to tell this to you last week but I learned some great food tricks. Everyone go by oreos and milk. Put a full oreo in your mouth and DO NOT CHEW IT. Then drink some milk and start chewing. It's so good!! Next is you take like a fried tortilla and pour honey on it and fold it in half and then eat it. That's pretty good. One more food trick. Instead of putting berries in pancake batter to have blueberry waffles just take a Yoplait blue berry yogurt or something and throw it in the batter and it taste the exact same.
Until next time Love, Kade Jensen
P.S. Now we are going to go shopping at Wal-mart and take pictures of us being spider man, bumble bee, captain america, and thor so pictures of that should be up next week.
And also everyone keeps asking hey where is Elder McAdams from and I'm tired of the same question. HE IS FROM CLEVELAND OHIO!! Anyways have a good day and refer investigators to the missionaries.

Pop Tarts and Cereal

Elder Kade Jensen
1550 Bell St. #218
Amarillo, TX 79106

Hey yall,
I named this pop tarts and cereal cuz that's all I ever eat here cuz nobody feeds us anything. The members don't feed us at all so we eat cereal most of the time and usually skip a meal from time to time. I thought I wouldn't be gaining much weight but I have gained 7 lbs so I am at 125 =) Today is P-day so after this we are going to Cadillac Ranch. This week as been pretty chill. Pretty laid back and all. I'm last Sunday I asked a 12 year old to be baptized and she said yes she would on August 13th so that's pretty cool being here for five days and already having a baptism. The Mission President called and congratulated me for excellent work so that was nice of him. We have two baptisms this Saturday but I didn't set that up. My companion just reminded me of a story. Last Sunday we saw this guy his name is Guy standing in the back of the chapel wondering where he could sit. I told Elder McAdams to have him sit by us and he did so Guy came and sat with us and started bawling and crying it was really cool. So for all of you at home if someone is lonely go sit with them and be their friend!! We met a family and this family was Catholic but extended family was Mormon and the mom and kids were wondering why their uncle's names were Lehi, Nephi, Abinadi, Alma, and Moroni. We gave them the story of Abinadi and they said cool and are now reading the Book of Mormon. The daughters are interested in the church and the mom says she probably won't join but her kids are free to choose.
I finally got to meet Kelly and Cary. They are the funnest people I have ever met. Kelly is the wife and Cary the husband. Cary is quiet and Kelly loves to talk. Her prayers are the funniest it's so hard not to bust out laughing but I keep my mouth closed and silent thankfully but she says Dear God, Dear Heavenly Father, Dear Daddy, then she goes into prayer and just goes on about how daddy needs to bless this person and thank you daddy for this thank you daddy for that it's really hard to focus but hey every prayer counts right? There were two days this week where it was just bashing Elder McAdams is a pro. It's pretty fun but it gets nothing done either. We took the bishop to Kelly and Cary's house and it turns out the Bishop and Kelly graduated the same year at the same high school in 1988. What a small world. Bishop told us he knows so much about Kelly and we told him she has told us everything and I mean everything. That's one thing I love about being a missionary. No one is afraid to tell us their life story they warm up to us so fast. And everyone here is friendly and willing to talk about Jesus Christ. The worst I've been told so far is BEAT IT! So I guess that's good.
Oh last night the apartment complex smelt like smoke in someone's room so someone else called the fire department and 9 cars were at the apartments. It was nothing dangerous though. It stinks at night cuz people have fights and what not in our apartment parking lot so that's why I know we have to be in at 9 every night and we have to be in bed by 10:30 which I think is funny watching people yell. But anyways every night some guy comes out at 11 and just starts yelling and cussing and nothing then he goes back inside after 3 minutes. Also there is a truck and every two hours or so some other guy just burns his tires and then gasses it. It gets old but whatever which reminds me I saw the Nascar track in Dallas when I was flying in Dallas and I took a picture of it. It was big! Okay I am uploading pictures finally found a computer that works for that. There is 7 pictures so hopefully you get them all. Love you all to!

P.S. Good luck with Utah Laine and BYU.

Amarillo Texas first area. Amarillo 4th ward!

Hey guys its Kade. Today is Thursday which is now my new P-DAY. I am doing fine here in Amarillo Texas and my new address is 1550 Bell St. #218 Amarillo, TX 79106. Send everything thing to this place. Idk what the mission office is I'm sure it's lying around somewhere. I should be here for 12 weeks which is two transfers. Ummm my trainer is pretty cool Elder Brett McAdams. He runs too. His brother is an Olympian named Josh McAdams so that's pretty cool. He always talks about him. It was good to talk to you on Tuesday I got to Dallas fine and then we had a two hour lay over and my plane kept getting more and more delayed so it ended up being three and a half hours of sitting around. We had biscuits with the Mission President and his wife and then stayed at the Assistant to the Presidents house aka AP. The next day we woke up and had more meetings talking about what to do in the mission field. I was so tired. I woke up at 4:20 to get to the bus at the MTC. What a prison that is!! After our meetings we went to a Chinese restaurant and Sister Poulson and Elder Tuckett had a baby octopus. Then went to look at bikes for people to buy. Le tour de France which was cool. Then went back to the mission home and had more orientation. After that Elder Moss and I got on the bus to head to the Amarillo zone. The sisters were balling when I left and I had a few tears come out. They are like my big sisters like Kaycee and Darci. Driving up there is nothing!!! No mountains no bushes no trees no green just all brown stuff. Kinda what I was expecting anyways. I want to upload pictures but it's dumb so whatever. After this we are going to play basketball. Yesterday was a successful day I met Dorothy who is getting baptized on the 23rd of this month. And we went knocking doors and I met Cain who said he will read a chapter of the Book of Mormon so we will go see him on Tuesday. And we met Kris. Kris is so smart. She knows everything about the Bible, the Koran, some Zorianstrom thing I think it's Native American because she is somewhat Cherokee. So she speaks nine different languages one of them being Cherokee now that's a fast language!!! We told her that the Book of Mormon is about her people and she told us she will read it all in two days. So we told her to take her time and highlight things she likes and she said okay she will finish it in a week but we are going to visit her on Saturday just to see how it's coming along. Right after that I met the Bishop and he is 43 or something in that range of age. Then we went knocking on more houses and we went to Lewis Browns house and he was saying that yesterday he was just talking to his wife about the Book of Mormon and we showed up and wall la here it is! His next door neighbor is Brian who is also interested and is going to read a little bit too. They both have tons of potential. My companion loves to talk. That's all he does is talk so each lesson I may squeeze in 20 words or so but it's all good. I got a new nickname. My new nickname is Baby Jensen or Baby J. In the MTC there were three Elder Jensen's on my floor!! And here in the field there are three but I think one just went home. Oh Yeah!! Tell Trae I met Ammon Woolbert aka Wooly Mammoth in the MTC he was in my zone. He is from Camano Island and he is serving in Anchorage Alaska for his mission. I have thirty more minutes to type and Idk what to say now =) but I am alive and doing well. The heat is not that bad to be honest.

Update!!

Kade leaves the MTC this Monday, July 11 at 5:00am heading to Lubbock!!

Once he arrives we will get his new address.

Week 2

Hey everyone. The clock is ticking. This clock is really irritating. That is such a cool dog Jody. Sadie will be good to you I'm sure oh and Happy Birthday to you and dad. Mom don't send me anymore packages from dear elder everyone is getting them and giving away the disgusting cookies..... But I do love the dear elder mail. Last Wednesday Elder Moss and I walked around with our name tags on backwards running around looking for new missionaries and we kept asking them where we get our name tags engraven. HAHAHAHA that was fun so tomorrow when the new missionaries come I get to be host and show the new missionaries around. This time I will be a Host to Elder Moss and he will pretend to be a new missionary coming in. I will ask hey where are your bags??? Then he will turn around and notice he has no bags and start running after his "moms" car haha good times good times. This week went by so fast I'm going to try to upload pictures but idk what this computer thinks about that. Oh and mom I don't have my camera charger it's either on the floor by the printer... in my room on that green chair.... or in my closet in that black and gold bag.... If not that's okay.... The computer is charging it now. Anyways the food is getting kinda old. We have choir practice today my district decided to sit in the bass section. We listened Jenny Oaks Baker when she came to a devotional on Sunday she is really good. Ummm today is the last day of gym inside because they are redoing the floors. Ummmm Oh yeah I ran a 5:27 and puked in the trash so next time I'm going to beat that 4:48 record and have it be outside when I race..... I think I can do it. I need to do more abs. I have gained 3 lbs so far so I am at 120.8. Hmmm what else other than that it's been pretty chill. Class gets really boring and we do lots of role play which gets old. But our actual investigators are awesome!!!! So..... I get to fly to Dallas then to Lubbock on Monday I have to leave here at 5 a.m. So today is like the last day pretty much to send me mail at the MTC unless you use dear elder just because letters take 4 days to get here. Ummmm dad I'm still wondering where Kyle Singler and Jimmer Fredette went???? And also what's with Ron Artest changing his name to Metta World Peace??? Welp Have a wonderful day I don't know what else to say. Ha that rhymes and I am making a rap song for my district it's coming along well and it's pretty funny. Take care of ALEY!!!
Love, Kade Jensen

First Week at MTC

Hi everybody it's Kade here. It's Tuesday which is my P-day. Wow this timer on the computer is really ticking me off so and stressing me out so I have to write fast. Okay day 1 my two hosts were awesome they said they didn't know what rules are so they had me skip the first half hour of class cuz it's a waste of time so we sat in their room. It's funny because they are going to Everett Washington same place as Trae. My companion is pretty chill we do what we want for the most part. He is from Wenatchee Washington. His name is Elder Moss. In my district or class I have 2 boys and 3 girls going to Lubbock Texas. And we have 6 boys going to Portland Oregon. They are pretty fun. My companion and I are the most fun. Yesterday was the greatest day because all of my appointments got cancelled and I can't sit in the same seat for 6 straight hours so the four of us who got cancelled meetings played lightsabers!!! Yes lightsabers!!! Some random old lady walked in and told us how to play. My pictures should show you for next week. Sorry I am in a hurry cuz this stupid timer. Ummmm we play book of Mormon hangman every now and then. I was also taught scripture baseball that is way awesome. Yesterday was my first day in the gym so I played basketball and some kid also going to Lubbock Texas named Elder Nelson was on the opposite team. Yeah he is 6 foot 8 inches and I guarded him a few times pretty sweet. He played for Utah Valley University. He is from about 30 minutes north of Sacramento. When Megan and I were at Redding well he was at Lake Shasta kind of small world. Anyways I looked up and they had the mile record for the mtc which is 4:48. My new goal is to have my name up on the board. I was the first one to find out everyones first name. I take pride in that =) I got to the Mtc and recieved mail from Uncle Craig and Elder Frank thanks guys. And yes mom and jody I know you think about me constantly. Hey mom did you get my letter??? Did Darci??? Megan??? Idk who got letters or not but that's okay maybe it just takes a few days.... Friday I got to listen to Elder Bednar speak and he told us to be ourselves and how to become a preach my gospel missionary. 1) Understand that they serve and represent Jesus Christ. 2) Are Worthy. 3) Treasure up the words of Eternal Life. 4) Understand the Holy Ghost is the Ultimate Teacher and 5) Teaching is more than speaking and telling. He also said that in two years when I am released as a missionary I am really set apart and called to be a full time missionary for the rest of my life. So just think about that and are you at home being a full time missionary? The missionaries purpose is Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. Another speaker for Sundays fireside was Stephen B. Allen who does media and television stuff for the church. He taught us what we go through when we have new experiences first is the honeymoon phase where you love it a lot. Next is the Hostile phase where you want to go far away and never return again. After that is the Grin and Bear it phase which is to serve others because that will be enjoyable and make time fly. Last is Endure to the End which means to just do your best and make every second count as Elder Levaque told me. This timer is really irritating me. But luckily yesterday we were taught how to manage our stress. My laundry is going right now and then I get to go to the temple. I love all of you. My companion just reminded me that we walked right passed Elder Dallin H. Oaks. That's pretty exciting and we met our Mission President he and she are pretty fun.
Love, Kade Jensen
P.S. I hate being called Elder.

Kade has been Set Apart and is Headed to the MTC and then to Lubbock Texas

Hey Everybody,

While Kade is away on his Mission we are going to do our best to keep everyone updated on how he is doing and pass along the messages he sends us.

Thank you for all the Support and Prayers that you have given Kade over the years. Over the next two years, he will be growing immensely as a person and in the Lord. We are very excited as I am sure you all are to keep up with his growth and all his stories!
